Paramount has unveiled the official Super Bowl TV spot for Scream 7, the latest chapter in the long-running slasher franchise that refuses to fade away. Set for a theatrical release on February 27, 2026, the film arrives nearly three decades after the original Scream debuted in 1996, once again proving Ghostface’s enduring grip on pop culture.
One of the biggest talking points is the return of Kevin Williamson, the original creator and writer of the franchise, who also steps behind the camera to direct the film. This marks only his second directorial effort since Teaching Mrs. Tingle in 1999, making Scream 7 a full-circle moment for the series. The Super Bowl spot teases a darker, more personal story, punctuated by the chilling line, “I’m gonna burn it all down.”
The plot centers on Sidney Prescott, played by Neve Campbell, who is drawn back into the nightmare when a new Ghostface killer emerges in the quiet town where she has built a new life. The stakes are deeply personal this time, as Sidney’s daughter, portrayed by Isabel May, becomes the killer’s primary target. Forced to confront her past once again, Sidney fights to protect her family and end the violence for good.
The film boasts a massive ensemble cast that blends franchise veterans with newer faces. Alongside Campbell and Courteney Cox, the cast includes Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Anna Camp, Joel McHale, Mckenna Grace, Michelle Randolph, Jimmy Tatro, Mark Consuelos, and several others, promising a body count as crowded as the call sheet.
Produced by Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group, Scream 7 follows Scream VI, which hit theaters in 2023. With legacy characters, a new generation at risk, and its creator back at the helm, the film aims to tap into nostalgia while pushing the story forward. Whether this chapter reinvents the franchise or serves as a final scream, audiences will find out when Ghostface returns to theaters this winter.
